Important and Extremely Rare Sideboard with Mirror by Vittorio Dassi, 1940s/50s
This important and extremely rare sideboard with mirror was crafted by Vittorio Dassi in the 1940s/50s.
The piece stands on a red French marble base, from which faceted vase-shaped legs rise to support the body of the sideboard, masterfully inlaid by Piero Del Grande.
It features two side doors and six central drawers with crystal handles.
The top is made of black opaline glass.
Above sits a lyre-shaped mirror.
This sideboard is a true Italian masterpiece of its time. The wooden surfaces have been recently polished, and one handle has been replaced.
The marble top, resting on a wooden sub-base trimmed in brass, has a hairline crack in the center. Overall, it is in excellent vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age.
