Inlaid Salon Set by Vittorio Dassi and Piero Del Grande for Dassi Mobili Moderni, 1950s – Set of 12
An exceptional and extremely rare salon set designed by Vittorio Dassi in the 1940s/50s.
The furniture is supported by faceted octagonal vase-shaped legs resting on elegant Red France marble bases.
Both the sideboard and the servante showcase extraordinary marquetry craftsmanship, depicting an intricate marine-themed scene, masterfully created by Piero Del Grande.
-
The servante features two side doors and six central drawers with crystal handles. The top is in black opaline glass, complemented by a lyre-shaped mirror.
-
The large sideboard has four doors and a black opaline glass top.
-
The oval dining table also comes with a black opaline glass top.
-
The eight chairs, with their refined and sinuous design, are upholstered in exquisite Gobelin-style jacquard fabric.
This salon set is a true masterpiece of mid-century Italian design. Each piece bears the DMM (Dassi Mobili Moderni) label under the glass tops.
