Mahogany and rosewood table with glass top, 1950s

Mahogany and rosewood table with glass top, 1950s. Masterfully executed in an exquisite combination of rosewood and mahogany; all the lines of the cabinet are curved and rounded.

Four mahogany legs start from brass tips, extending softly and sinuously, joining to form a cross in the center and an inverted T at the sides. Above, the generously sized top closes with a geometric rosewood frame to support the top, continuing and closing at the apex with an inverted T, accommodating a generously sized top, also in mahogany with an aquamarine-decorated back glass inserted in the center. Gilded metal tips. The table on viewing looks elegant and important outlining a sculptural dimension. Certainly the piece of furniture is of important design and workmanship. Light wear due to age and use; small break on glass.

Dimensions:  h.79 x 200 x 99 cm.
